Automatic Parking Barriers

Parking barriers are one of the most sought after types of automation for controlling the vehicle traffic in public car parks, private entrances, and a block of flats.

The CAME range includes both 230V A.C. and 24V D.C. models, and a special stainless steel version when corrosion might be an issue. Any type of throughway can be controlled, from small, narrow passages with quick barriers, to very wide passages of up to 12 m / 39'4" of net span.

A vast range of dedicated accessories is also available, all designed to complement the system even when special requests are involved, such as with jointed arms or anti-panic systems.

Sliding Gates

Sliding gates offer a great alternative to swing gates. Perhaps you prefer sliding gates, or more likely the layout of your property demands a sliding gate as an alternative.

Both roller-tracked AND cantilever gates can be automated using CAME's range of Sliding Gate Motors.

The installation of an electric sliding gate system is a little more involved than any other type of electric gate, but once the correct ground track and/or cantilever roller frames are installed, then the installation follows the same format as with other types of electric gates.

You will almost certainly need a sliding gate if your entrance way if

  • Limited room for swing gate wings to open in, compromising possible parking space.
  • Turns sharply left or right and a swinging gate would create an obstruction to the turning vehicle.
  • Is on a steep upward incline preventing a swing gate wing from opening up the drive.

Our trained engineers will be more than happy to visit your property to discuss which system would be the most effective solution for your needs.

There are two different types of sliding gate mechanism

  • A tracked sliding gate runs on wheels along a grooved steel rail that is buried just below ground level.
  • A cantilever gate (pictured in the background) is counterbalanced above the ground, supported by rollers fitted to the bottom of the gate. The advantage of a cantilever gate is that you don't have to keep the track free of leaves - however, cantilever gates are generally more expensive as they require more civil engineering.

Wrought Iron & Metal Gates

Always popular with our customers, gates made from wrought iron offer a diverse range of styles and designs both traditional and contemporary.

Wrought Iron gates are simple to maintain as they resist the elements very well; especially when they have been hot-dip galvanised.

Wrought Iron gates guarantee your security

As a metal product, strength is integral to the material. Your property will be protected behind a set of well fitted gates.

  • Metal Gates can be less expensive than wooden gates.
  • Metal Gates are easy to maintain.
  • Metal Gates are strong and secure.
  • Metal Gates are durable.
  • Metal Gates blend in with their surroundings.

Wrought Iron gates usually have an open style, allowing you to see between the bars, this means others can see into your property, which may be detrimental to your privacy. If this might be an issue, you might prefer a close-boarded wooden gates. If you are still Undecided? Why not be inspired by our photo gallery of recent installations.

Wooden Gates

Many people prefer the look of wooden gates over their metal counterparts. The natural look and rugged strength of wood helps create a unique and personal set of gates.

Many types of wood can be used depending on your preferences and budget. Wooden Driveway Gates are commonly fashioned from Hardwoods such as Teak, Iroko and Oak, although they can also be made from Softwoods such as Scandinavian Redwood or Cedar.

  • The natural look of wooden gates make them a beautiful addition to your home.
  • Wooden gates are unique. No two are the same!
  • Close-boarded wooden gates provide more privacy than metal gates.
  • Hardwood gates are strong and durable.
  • Wooden gates are a status symbol.
  • However, wooden gates require more periodic maintenance than their metal counterparts.

Fencing and Gate Health & Safety

Safety is of paramount importance to us, and is a requirement by law. Our electricians are Part-P qualified, all our engineers are fully trained to ensure your electric gates meet stringent safety standards and machinery directives.

We always recommend the installation of mechanical sensitive edges and 'magic eye' style safety sensors to ensure your system is as safe as possible. We may also recommend using 24 volt supplies instead of mains and utilising proximity sensors and cut-offs.
