Playspec Railings
A & R Fencing Contractors Ltd. offer two designs of Playspec Fencing, Playspec Bow Top and Playspec Flat Top. Playspec is designed to meet the requirements of BS EN 1176 Playground equipment specification with the gaps not exceeding 89mm and free from any neck entrapments.
Two specifications are available
Standard which has a 12mm diameter infill or heavy duty with 16mm diameter infill. It is available in standard panels set at max 2800mm centres from stock or manufactured in non-standard length, raked or radiused panels to suit individual requirements.
A & R Fencing Contractors Ltd. Playspec is supplied either Hot Dip Galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 or Galvanised and Polyester Powder Coated to a comprehensive range of colours.
Gates
To complement Playspec® Fencing we can also offer to the same specification with the added safety of a hydraulic self-closer if required.
Pedestrian Guard Railings
Designed to protect adults and children at road junctions and crossings, Pedestrian Guardrails are also ideal as perimeter fences to running tracks and play areas.
Standard panels are 2m long and manufactured from 50 x 30mm RHS frame with either a 12mm or 16mm diameter infill set at 110mm centres.
A & R Fencing Contractors Ltd. can also manufacture Special Guardrail Panels to individual customer requirements.
Vertical Bar Railings
Our Vertical bar railings are aesthetically pleasing and built to last and can be complemented with a range of forged-heads and finials are available as an option to achieve a more decorative look.
Fence Height Dimensions. Verticals can be in any height up to 2.4 metres and produced from solid bar round or square, square-to-view of diamond-to-view with either blunt, domed or pointed tops.
Fence Horizontal Dimensions
Available in flat or channel section - Heights above 2.4m are available on request.
Posts
Intermediates, Corner and End and are available in a wide range of sizes and materials including: RHS and RSJ, with the provision to be stepped or cranked to suit site conditions, secured in concrete (supplied complete with two support legs per standard panel for concrete-in fixing) or base plated for surface mounting. All posts come with welded steel caps. A range of post head details available for all railings as an optional extra.
Panels
Panels are available as standard to 2.72m wide panels welded in accordance with BS 1722 Pt9. Panels can also be made to suit your specific requirements - straight, curved or raked.
Gates
Standard gates are available or tailored-made to suit your requirements. All gates are supplied with side hung adjustable hinges, pad-lockable drop-bolts, multi-holed to suit site conditions and robust pad-lockable slide latches.
Bow Top Railings
Bow top railing systems are available in a variety of styles: single, interlaced, bow in bow, bar in bow and bow and bar.

- Available in Flat, Rolled Steel Channel section.

Fencing and Gate Health & Safety
Safety is of paramount importance to us, and is a requirement by law. Our electricians are Part-P qualified, all our engineers are fully trained to ensure your electric gates meet stringent safety standards and machinery directives.
We always recommend the installation of mechanical sensitive edges and 'magic eye' style safety sensors to ensure your system is as safe as possible. We may also recommend using 24 volt supplies instead of mains and utilising proximity sensors and cut-offs.
